Mindfulness based stress reduction eliminates the fear most of us feel when we image a future fraught with problems and angry neighbors that yell at us. It works by regulating the emotions and simply by allowing us to feel better about life in general.
Unfortunately, we can't stop our emotions from surfacing most of the time. But we can learn to work creatively with them. Try the mindfulness based exercise on dealing with fear on the info-graphic below.

One of the first steps in dealing with fear using mindfulness is to recognize that fear is present. Notice your heart beating faster, notice your breath coming in gasps. As you notice these changed imagine a bell going off in your head.
Take 5, 10 or 20 deep breaths or as many as you need until you feel your body slowing down. Name the fear and acknowledge it as quickly as you can.
When you name the fear, you instantly create some distance from it and you take away some of its power. It becomes easier to deal with in the moment once you put a name to it.
Eliminating fear with mindfulness is a great way to begin to gain control over your life and your emotions. The more you practice the easier it will become.
